I don't understand music at all, because I cannot play piano or any other musical instrument. Is that true? Why is it that when you are listening to music, you feel sad/happy/motivated/disappointed? Even though you don't know how to play music, you can still understand music.
When you are hearing a happy song, you feel delighted, and you don't need to know exactly what the lyrics are. I think that's why many people say that "music is the common language of human beings"
I liked listening to music very much when I was a high school student, but now it is not that much, I don't listen to music every day but every other day or something like that.Even when there is no sound around me, if I want to listen to music, I hear music playing in my heart. But if there is music around me, and I don't feel like listening to it, I don't hear it. So sometimes I sing in my mind instead of listening to mp3s :P
And the type of music that I like has also changed a lot with my age. For example, I liked rock when I was around 16-18, that was one way I released myself from the pressure; but now (I don't know since when) I no longer listen to rock music, because I feel uncomfortable when I listen to rock, I feel it is annoying and messy. That's a quite strange transition. Instead, I prefer pure/classic/Buddhist music rather than rock or pop, because they make me feel peaceful and harmony deep in my heart
